The Reason for "It All"

Ya know, what it all boils down to is that we want to share and be shared with. Our opinions matter to us, we want them to matter to others and although a bit less frequent, we want others to share their opinions with us.

We also want to know whats happening in the world. We want to weigh in, we want our voices heard and we want action to be taken.

We do this intuitively.

As a Gen-X-er, I have seen the advent of the Internet, and though I never understood the lure at the time of "chat lines" - having dialed in to a chat room on America Online, it is easy to understand how we got here.

Today we publish for all -> not just members of a paid service (though the internet itself is not yet free). Some make an impact and some just make noise.  Both we learn from.
